Biofuels Technology Club is a student-run project team at UC Berkeley with the mission of diverting campus waste cooking oil from landfills to produce biodiesel for campus vehicles. Our diverse, multidisciplinary roster is split into 4 major teams, Scale Up, Research, Logistics, and Finance. We hope to provide a unique hands-on learning opportunity for engineering students to design a process, build a refinery from scratch, overcome all the logistical obstacles along the way, and raise awareness about the benefits of recycling cooking oil into biodiesel.
